Early Autumn - Apple and Cinnamon

Summary: "An older book, for die-hard fans. Otherwise, just skip it."
It is too bad that two talented creators could not save this book. Archie Goodwin and Howard Chaykin have been viewed as some comic book greats. Unfortunately, Goodwin's storytelling is painfully boring, and Chaykin's art is horribly sloppy. I have not read much work from Goodwin, but what I have read is much better than this garbage. I have never been much of a fan for Chaykin's uneven, awkward blocky art style, but there is much better work out there by him. It is unfortunate that a strong player in the Marvel universe like Wolverine was wasted on this book. Even Nick Fury who I was never a fan of (but, because of the Ultimate line of books have found renewed faith in the character) was also wasted in this book, which is a pity considering the story is centered around him. I realize this book came out quite a while, but is bad even for the decade it was released in. This could possibly be one of the worse Wolverine stories written. Buy it for cheap if you are only a die-hard Wolverine fan like myself. Otherwise, it is worth skipping altogether. You will miss nothing if you pass this book up, it is a self contained story.
